Blueberries in the Boundary Waters

Wednesday, August 4, 2010 by Sue prom
There are still plenty of blueberries in the Boundary Waters and on the Gunflint Trail.  I hiked the popular Magnetic Rock Hiking Trail the other day and was surprised to see all of the blue dots still lining the trail.  Car loads of berry pickers have ventured onto the Magnetic Rock Trail but there are still more berries to be picked.
Our canoe groups in the Boundary Waters and Quetico Park have been enjoying fresh picked berries in their granola, in their pancakes and by the handfull.  Raspberries, June berries, and Thimbleberries are all ripe too.  Come on up and pick some for yourself.
