Hudson Bay Expedition Crew Taking the Morning Off on the 25th of June?

Sunday, June 26, 2011 by Sue prom
I'm really not sure what the Voyageur Hudson Bay Expedition Crew was doing from 6am until noon on the 25th of June but I do know they didn't even paddle a mile during that time.  My best guess is the guys were fishing but one could imagine all types of things when a paddling Crew paddles 6 miles per hour one day and less than one the next day.  Could the wind have been that fierce? Not according to the weather bouy information I have from Lake Winnipeg, but I suppose that could be wrong.  We'll just have to keep wondering until we get the list of all of our questions answered upon their return.

They spent the entire day on or around Putnam Island on Lake Winnipeg.  I looked online to see if I could find any historical information regarding this island but I didn't have any luck.  I thought maybe there was an oasis on the island or perhaps a resort but from what I could tell there wasn't anything.  The guys must have been relaxing or playing cribbage.

The cribbage war has been on since the first day of the canoe trip.  Last I heard Adam Maxwell and Mike Swenson were about 6 games ahead and had 4 skunks under their belts.  Maybe Andrew and Will were feeling lucky and got on a winning spree and didn't want to qit playing?  We just can't tell.
